#1. 500 Mice

Okay, 500 mice escaped, it’s your 7am shift and you’re still only half awake. Just, calm down. I SAID, CALM DOWN. Good. Very first thing to do, is/are your coworker(s) there? If so, run, don’t stop, don’t look back, leave it to them. They aren’t? Is Jeremy off doing who knows what? Well then. Now, you know you’re getting fired if you don’t get them back, so it’s time to act fast. What’s our solution? One word, chemicals.

You’re never gonna be able to catch all of them when they’re awake and running about, and given that the density of Halothane is 1.875g/cm^3, it’s gonna stay at the bottom of the pet store. Density is 1.875g/cm3, we need 4000ft^3, or 121920cm^3, so 228600g of halothane. Of course, this would work with any sort of sedation solvent assuming that it has a density of over 1, so that it remains lower than where the rest of the animals are.

Of course, if you’re thinking of using something such as chloroform, that would work too, using a water mixture & chloroform, and using a humidifier to distribute it. Adding certain gases to the mixture, if needed, to guarantee the density.Of course, this would be rather expensive, but if you’re a cheapskate you could likely create a gas-based solution involving melatonin, which mice have been proven to be more sensitive to. You can use a standard humidifier, as mentioned before, with a liquid-based melatonin and water solution, allow it to calm down the mice which will make them slower or cause them to fall asleep, and round them all up. Alternatively, you could go a different route and attempt to bait them into specific areas and round them all up (c h e e s e).

Keep in mind that we’re gonna have to do this fast, because if a customer, coworker, or worse, the manager, walk in you’re getting fired. So hurry up, buy a humidifier from target, make some chloroform, or just blame it on that coworker that has “15 kids” who are always “sick”. Why are you still reading this? get going!
